Attend a citizenship ceremony

Australian citizenship in Casey

Becoming an Australian Citizen is about committing to Australia and its people.

All applications for Australian citizenship are processed by the Department of Immigration and Home Affairs. Further information on how to apply for Australian citizenship is available from the Australian citizenship website or the Citizenship Information Line on 131 880.

Once you have become an Australian Citizen through the Department of Immigration and Home Affairs, they will send you an invitation to a Citizenship ceremony.

While Casey hosts Australian citizenship ceremonies, the council is unable to provide further information regarding the timing of your ceremony. All ceremony enquiries should be directed to the Citizenship Information Line on 131 880.

Ceremony dates and times

The following ceremonies are scheduled to take place during 2021, subject to COVID-19 restrictions:

Due to the current restrictions, in person ceremonies will not taking place until further notice. Online  ceremonies are being offered and candidates will receive an email asking if they wish to attend an online ceremony.  PLEASE NOTE: there is a waiting list to attend online ceremonies and it may be up to 6 months after receiving the letter of approval before you are contacted about a ceremony. 

In person ceremonies will commence in 2022 restrictions permitting.
