Melbourne Football Club - Casey partnership

City of Casey and the Melbourne Football Club working together in the community

Victoria’s largest municipality, the City of Casey, and one of the oldest and greatest football clubs in the world, the Melbourne Football Club, are working together to jointly promote and showcase sporting opportunities and the benefits of an active lifestyle throughout Casey’s schools, sporting clubs and community groups.

AFLW returns to Casey Fields

The Melbourne Football Club (MFC) have their sights set on Casey Fields, with the Dees playing their first home against the Western Bulldogs at 3.05 pm on Saturday 16 September.

Tickets to the game are $10 and can be purchased via Ticketmaster. Access for juniors (under 18) is free, however all attendees must redeem a ticket. Any junior without a pre-purchased ticket will not be permitted access to the match.

The reigning premiers will also play two games at Casey Fields in October:

  • Round 6, Saturday 7 October, MFC v Adelaide Crows, 3.05 pm

  • Round 9, Saturday 28 October, MFC v Fremantle Dockers, 1.05 pm

AFLW finals will again feature a four-week structure, mirroring the previous season’s structure.

The 2023 NAB AFLW Grand Final will be held on Sunday December 3, with the highest placed club earning the home ground hosting rights.

Free footy program for multicultural women

The City of Casey and Melbourne Football Club share a vision for a happy, healthy and active community. We have partnered with Melbourne Football Club through #CaseyGirlsCan to develop a free footy program for multicultural women in Casey. Held in the Club’s indoor training facility at Casey Fields, the six-week program attracted women and girls of all-abilities and skill levels, the majority of whom were new to Aussie Rules Football.

Citizenship Ceremony at Casey Fields

The City of Casey hosted a Citizenship Ceremony at Casey Fields in October 2022. Held at Melbourne Football Club’s indoor training facility, we welcomed 191 new citizens to the City of Casey — 85 adults and 106 children. Following the ceremony, our newest citizens had the opportunity to be part of a Guard of Honour, a once in a lifetime opportunity to stand on the ground and cheer on the Melbourne Football Club's AFLW players as they run through the banner.

AFLW Premiership Cup at Bunjil Place

Melbourne Football Club and the City of Casey were excited to bring the AFLW Premiership Cup to the Bunjil Place Studio. Melbourne fans had the opportunity to get up close with this fantastic piece of silverware. Thanks to all the Dees fans who came along.
