Fresh Words Young Writers Competition 2021

  • Entries open Monday 22 March at 9.00 am.
  • Entries close Friday 21 May at 5.00 pm.

Unleash your inner storyteller and join in the Fresh Words Young Writers Competition. If you are a budding author, journalist or songwriter, embrace this opportunity to put your imagination on paper and win some great prizes.

The competition has three categories:

  • Creative writing – maximum 750 words (any topic or theme)
  • Poetry/lyrics – maximum one page (any topic or theme)
  • English as an additional language – maximum 750 words (any topic or theme – open to students who are currently enrolled in EAL studies)

Work will be judged according to year level:

  • Junior: Years 5 and 6
  • Intermediate: Years 7 - 9
  • Senior: Years 10 - 12

Teenage School Holiday Program

The Casey Teenage School Holiday Program is for young people aged 10 - 17 years. The program offers fun, age-appropriate activities at affordable prices.

The Autumn program will be a mix of online and face to face activities running from Tuesday 6 April to Thursday 15 April. Multiple activities including Splat Ball, Rush HQ, the movies and online workshops in art and dance.

  • Prices from $10 to as little as $30
  • Fully supervised
  • Places are limited and fill up fast, so get in while you can!

Transportation to and from the program is available at designated pick up and drop off points throughout Cranbourne, Narre Warren, Hampton Park, Endeavour Hills and Doveton. Bookings are essential.

FReeZA Committee – IGN!TE Entertainment 

Applications are now open for young people aged 12-25 years who would like to join Casey’s FReeZA committee, IGN!TE Entertainment.

IGN!TE provides opportunities for young people to assist with the planning, organisation, and delivery of Casey’s FReeZA events for other young people living within the City of Casey to enjoy. All events are drug, alcohol and smoke-free in supervised and safe venues.
