Eligibility
Individuals
You may be eligible for a disabled parking permit if:
- you are a Casey resident
- you have a permanent or temporary disability
- your doctor, medical practitioner or clinical psychologist has diagnosed your disability
If you care for someone with a disability, you can take them to the doctor to complete the application form.
Organisations
If your organisation transports people with disabilities, your vehicle may be eligible for a disabled parking permit.
In your application, you must outline:
- what your organisation does and why you need the permit(s)
- how many permits you need
- if you need more than 10 permits, what they will be used for
How to apply
You must complete the application with your doctor, medical practitioner or clinical psychologist.
Apply online (Medical Practitioners and Organisations Only)
Organisations that transport people with disabilities can also apply for permits.
If you're unable to apply online
If your doctor is unable to apply online, they can print and complete the Disabled Parking Permit Application form.
We do not charge any fees to apply or print a disabled parking permit.
What happens next
Online forms
If you and your doctor applied online, we will post your permit within 10 working days.
If you need your permit urgently, you can collect it from a Customer Service Centre the next business day after you apply. Otherwise, we will post it to you.
Print forms
If you and your doctor complete the print form, you can bring it to a Customer Service Centre and receive your permit immediately.
If you post or email your completed application, we will post your permit within 10 business days.
Renew your permit
Your disabled parking permit will be valid for 6 months, 12 months or 5 years from the date we granted it. If your permit has expired and you still need it, you will need to apply for it to be renewed.
Permit numbers beginning with A or B
To renew an expiring permanent permit (your permit number will begin with A or B), please contact us to confirm if a new application is required to renew.
Permit numbers beginning with D
To renew an expiring temporary permit (your permit number will begin with D), you must re-apply with a doctor.
Organisation permits
To renew an organisation permit, you must re-apply.
It is your responsibility to ensure your permit is still valid.
Replace a lost or stolen permit
If your permit is lost, stolen or damaged, you can have it replaced.
To do this, you must:
- complete the Application for a Replacement Disabled Parking Permit form
- include any supporting documentation (such as a police report)
- submit these documents to us in person or by mail
