Town planners

Casey offers an incredible planning experience with great diversity in our land uses – from the Dandenong Ranges' foothills to Tooradin's coastal areas.

The scope of work is varied, with opportunities to work in non-urban and urban developments, including multi-unit developments, shopping centre redevelopments, office space and industrial developments.

Town Planning is divided into two distinct departments – Established and Growth Areas, offering various opportunities for Statutory and Strategic Planners at varying levels.

Our team’s roles are structured in a way that provides our employees exposure to a variety of responsibilities keeping the work interesting whilst developing a holistic understanding of the services we offer our community.

Principal Engineer
There is a wealth of knowledge within the organisation; staff are empowered to influence and really shape good outcomes for the community.
Strategic Principal Planner
The exposure to various experiences has made me an all-rounded town planner. My colleagues and leaders support me to dream big and be the best I can be.

As one of the fastest-growing regions in Victoria, there is also the potential to be involved in planning new suburbs and communities. It is our view that Planners who experience working in growth area councils develop effective skills in agility, communication and innovation. With high levels of delegated decision-making responsibility, responding and adapting to various experiences places them in a strong position for future career options.

As part of the many benefits offered by the City of Casey, we work in a genuine hybrid, activity-based work environment which is guided by our peer-developed Team Agreement, enabling us to work flexibly and do our best work.
