Lace up your walking shoes and join the fun of Walktober with a free family day at Casey Fields this Saturday 3 September at 11am.
Beginning and ending at the Casey Fields Playspace and Village Green, walkers will complete the 4km loop of the Casey Fields fitness trail, with exercise zones and interactive signage along the way. The event is wheelchair, pram and dog friendly.
At the conclusion of your walk, head to the Walktober event village where you’ll find music, food and stalls, plus there will be activities, giveaways and prizes up for grabs.
City of Casey Mayor, Michelle Crowther said walking was a great, free activity that can help boost both physical and mental wellbeing.
“Events like Walktober are a great opportunity for people to spend time outdoors, enjoy some physical activity and connect with others in their community,” Cr Crowther said.
“There are several walking and running groups within Casey and some beautiful places to visit, so if you need some motivation or want company while you walk, you might find there’s already something happening in your local neighbourhood.”
Cr Jennifer Dizon said: “If you’ve haven’t spent much time outdoors over the colder months, Walktober is a great time to start. Taking time to walk regularly is a small step that can make a big difference to your overall wellbeing.”
