If you’re passionate about environmental sustainability and would like to help shape the City of Casey’s environmental strategies, apply now to join Council’s Environment and Sustainability Community Reference Group (ESCRG).
Members of the group are volunteers who provide a local voice and community perspective for a range of Council plans and projects.
The group has previously played an instrumental role in shaping the development of Council’s Environment Strategy, Climate Action Plan and Climate Resilience Casey Plan.
Council is seeking people with an interest in environmental issues such as climate action, biodiversity and conservation, who want to contribute their local knowledge, personal experiences and ideas and be part of community projects.
City of Casey Mayor Cr Michelle Crowther said: “Members of the Community Reference Group provide valuable local knowledge and are uniquely positioned to provide feedback and contribute practical ideas around Council’s environmental work,” Cr Crowther said.
“We are seeking a diverse and representative group from different ages, backgrounds, cultures, abilities and experiences who are interested in helping to shape Council's environmental strategies and promoting more community awareness and participation in environmental programs.
“I encourage Casey residents who have an interest in environmental sustainability and are able to represent the interests of the broad Casey community as part of a team, to send in their expression of interest.”
