Applications open for 2021 Environment Grants

The City of Casey is offering grants of up to $5,000 to assist local groups and organisations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and tackle climate change to help the environment.

The grants aim to assist local not-for-profit groups, schools, kindergartens or businesses to make the premises where they operate more energy efficient and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Every year the Environment Grants theme changes. Last year’s theme revolved around creating gardens, programs and space to inspire the community to connect with nature. In 2020, four schools were awarded grants for their community garden proposals and Blind Bight Community Centre was successful in securing one to help them run interactive gardening workshops.

In keeping with this year’s ‘Reduce and Change’ theme, examples of what you could apply for funding for include (but are not limited to) upgrading to energy efficient lighting, installing external window shades or living green walls, or replacing inefficient fridges or freezers.

Applications are open throughout February 2021 and close at 5.00 pm on 1 March 2021.
