Service impacts during the Archibald Prize Exhibition

City of Casey customers who visit Bunjil Place during this year’s Archibald Prize Exhibition in September and October may find the precinct busier than usual.

To ensure that we can continue to serve the community, we are making some changes to services during this time.

Bunjil Place Customer Service Centre relocation

The exhibition, which is expected to attract high visitor numbers, runs from 3 September 2022 to 16 October 2022. Being a major event, a week’s set up and a couple of days pack down is required either side.

During this time, the Bunjil Place Customer Service Centre will temporarily operate from the Casey Works Centre, located at 30-52 Vesper Drive, Narre Warren, from Monday 29 August 2022 until Tuesday 18 October 2022. For directions to our Casey Works Centre, please see the map on this page or this pin on Google Maps.

Customer service operating hours during this time will continue to be Monday to Friday, 9.00 am until 4.00 pm. Customers are also welcome to visit our Cranbourne location or to interact with us online or by phone.

Operating hours at our Cranbourne Customer Service Centre will be extended from 9.00 am until 4.00 pm Monday to Friday, from Monday 29 August 2022 until Tuesday 18 October 2022.

From Wednesday 19 October, Customer Service operations will resume as normal at Bunjil Place and Cranbourne.

Bunjil Place precinct car parking during the Archibald Prize Exhibition

Due to the number of visitors expected to attend the exhibition, it is anticipated that there may be some pressures on parking around the Bunjil Place precinct during the Archibald Prize Exhibition, which runs from 3 September until 16 October 2022. To mitigate this, Council has worked with transport planners to develop a parking plan designed to alleviate this pressure as much as possible, but there may still be peak periods when visitors may find it difficult to find a park immediately.

If you are visiting Bunjil Place or Casey Arc, we encourage you to park in the zoned car parks. Please refer to the parking map on this page.

We encourage all patrons to arrive 15-20 minutes early during this period to ensure you have enough time to park your vehicle. During times of peak activity there will be staff in the car parking areas to help you find the appropriate parking area, depending on the purpose of your visit.

Please note that the Max Pawsey Reserve car park, located opposite Bunjil Place on Magid Drive, is currently closed due to works.

The formerly all-day parking area in the car park between the Bunjil Place Plaza and Fountain Gate has been rezoned as a three-hour parking facility. Parking time limits in this location have been extended from 5.00 pm till 9.00 pm.

Council meetings during the Archibald Prize Exhibition

Council Meetings are held in person and open to the public every third Tuesday of the month inside the Bunjil Place Function Centre commencing at 4.00 pm. They are also livestreamed to the City of Casey’s Facebook page

During the Archibald Prize Exhibition, there is one Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday 13 September 2022. Due to the exhibition, this meeting will be held in a Bunjil Place Library meeting room. The Bunjil Place Library is located on the opposite side of the building from the Function Centre and accessible to the public during the exhibition. Staff will be on hand to assist you, should you require help to find the meeting room.

The exhibition closes on Sunday 16 October 2022. The Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday 18 October 2022 will be held in the Bunjil Place Function Centre as normal.
