Additional Requirements for Short-form Video Entries

If you are submitting a video, please ensure the following:

  • Your video is no longer than 60 seconds, including titles and credits
  • It is submitted in MP4 or MOV format
  • It is formatted for display at 1920x1080p resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, and up to 60fps
  • It contains only original content or content for which you have obtained permission
  • It is suitable for a general audience (G-rating)
  • You upload a copy of your script (PDF, DOC, or TXT format)

Terms and conditions

All applicants must read and agree to the following terms and conditions before submitting their entry.

1. Eligibility and Entry

1.1. Entry is free and open to young people who live, study, work, or have a connection to the City of Casey.
1.2. Entrants must be in Grade 5 to Year 12 (or age equivalent). Entries will be judged in three age categories:
  • Junior: Grade 5–6
  • Intermediate: Year 7–9
  • Senior: Year 10–12
1.3. A maximum of two entries per person will be accepted.
1.4. Each entry must be submitted with a completed entry form. For entrants aged 17 or under, a parent or guardian’s contact details are required to confirm consent.

2. Submission Guidelines

2.1. All entries must be:
  • Original and created by the entrant within the past 2 years
  • Suitable for a general audience (G-rating) as defined by the Classification (Publications, Films and Computer Games) Act 1995
  • Free from offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate content
  • Compliant with copyright laws (no unlicensed music, images, or footage)
2.2. Visual Arts and Photography entries must:
  • Be 2D and unframed
  • Submitted works may vary in size, but must be suitable for display and handling
2.3. Short Form Video entries must:
  • Be no longer than 60 seconds
  • Be submitted in a standard digital format (e.g., MP4, MOV)
  • Be formatted for display on a studio screen (max resolution: 1920x1080p, aspect ratio 16:9, up to 60fps)
  • Include a copy of the script with the submission
  • Contain only original content or content for which the entrant has obtained appropriate permissions
  • Include consent from all individuals featured, with parental/guardian consent for any minors
2.4. Late, incomplete, or corrupted entries may not be accepted. The City of Casey is not responsible for lost, delayed, or misdirected submissions due to technical issues.
2.5. Submission of an entry does not guarantee exhibition or publication.

3. Judging and Exhibition

3.1. Entries will be judged by a panel of local artists and young people. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
3.2. Finalists will be notified via email or phone.
3.3. Selected entries may be:
  • Featured in City of Casey publications, including print, digital, and online formats
  • Displayed at local venues across the City of Casey
  • For video entries, screened on a studio display as outlined above
3.4. By submitting an entry, participants confirm that they have read and agree to abide by the above terms and conditions. They also acknowledge that their work may be used for promotional purposes by the City of Casey, including publication and exhibition in print, digital, and online formats.

The information we collect may also be used for our planning and research purposes to improve the services to the community.
