National Recycling Week is a great opportunity to brush up on your recycling knowledge, rethink what you throw away and discover simple ways to reduce waste at home.
Running from Monday 9 to Sunday 15 November 2026, Planet Ark’s National Recycling Week has been helping Australians better understand recycling and waste for 30 years. This year’s theme, 'Join the Cycle’, encourages everyone to keep reducing, reusing, repurposing and recycling at home and in their community.
Here in Casey, there are plenty of ways to get involved and learn more about what happens to your waste and recycling:
- Follow your recycling
Ever wondered what happens to your recycling after your bin is collected?
Our ‘Follow your recycling’ tours give Casey residents the chance to learn more about what happens to recyclable materials after collection and get a closer look at the recycling process.
You can join our next tour taking place on Thursday 12 November.

- Drop off hard-to-recycle items
National Recycling Week is also a good reminder that not everything belongs in your household bins.
If you have old clothes, linens, soft plastics, unwanted electronics, cardboard, or polystyrene in need of recycling, book a spot at our free “Hard to Recycle Items Drop Off Day” on Saturday 21 November.
This annual event is designed to make it easy for Casey residents to donate unwanted household items and recycle eligible items that can’t go in kerbside bins.
