The City of Casey has welcomed improved results as part of the Klein 2026 Community Satisfaction Survey, with Council performing in line with other fast-growing Victorian municipalities.

Co-ordinated by the State Government on behalf of councils across Victoria, the annual survey is an independent survey which benchmarks how residents view the performance of their councils.  The survey helps councils understand community priorities, improve services and compare performance with similar councils across Victoria.

This year’s results show Casey’s overall performance score increase by four points to 51, with improvements recorded across almost every key measure compared with last year.

While Casey remains below the Victorian average in several areas, the results show Council is performing strongly alongside other fast-growing, fringe-area councils which face many of the same challenges associated with rapid population growth and increasing demand for infrastructure and services.

City of Casey Mayor Cr Stefan Koomen said the results were encouraging and demonstrates that Council is making progress while focused on continuous improvement.

“This survey is just one of the ways we hear directly from our community.  We’re pleased to see our overall performance improve and that residents are recognising improvements across many of our services,” Cr Koomen said

“It was particularly great to see our community satisfaction score for the general direction of Council improve by four points, bringing it in line with the State average and above the interface group average.

“This result reflects the importance of having a Council that is locally led and accountable to the community, with Councillors and Council working together to deliver on the priorities that matter most to Casey residents.

“At the same time, we recognise that there is always more to do, and we’re committed to continuing to listen to our residents and deliver the infrastructure and services our growing community needs.”

Waste management remained Casey’s highest-rated service, increasing six points to a score of 73 and exceeding the State average.  Resident satisfaction also increased with improved scores across Council’s customer service, the opportunity for residents to provide feedback, the condition of sealed local streets and Council’s decision-making compared with last year.

Opportunities identified by the survey for improvement included, strengthening engagement, being able to demonstrate how community feedback informs decisions and improving the perceptions around the way public funds are spent.

Council will use the findings to ensure it continues to respond to the needs and expectations of Casey’s growing community.
