Free winter fitness session at Cairns Road Reserve – helping the community get active after dark!

Playing Cairns Road Reserve

Looking for motivation to stay active during the colder, darker months? The City of Casey is inviting the community to Carins Road Reserve in Hampton Park for a free community fitness session as part of the Active After Dark program.

The session is aimed at offering a welcoming and safe space for people of all ages and abilities to get moving this winter.

Featuring activities led by the Casey Street Team – a brand-new initiative bringing sports and leisure services directly into neighbourhoods across Casey – alongside a guided running/walking session, with Hampton Park Football Club also there on the night.

$10 canteen vouches will also be up for grabs for the first 50 people.

City of Casey Mayor Stefan Koomen said the Active After Dark Program is about making it easier for residents to stay active and feel confident using local open spaces during winter.

"This winter, we're lighting up our parks and open spaces to create more opportunities for the community to get active, connect with others and feel safe," said Cr Koomen.

"By opening up sport facilities like Cairns Road Reserve outside of normal hours, we're making them more accessible for everyone – not just organised sport.

"So come on down on Wednesday 22 July from 6.30pm for a run or walk, or to meet someone new from your neighbourhood," said Cr Koomen.

When: Wednesday 22 July

Time: 6.30pm - 8pm
