Families across the City of Casey can now enjoy four more upgraded local play spaces, delivering safer, more accessible and engaging places for the community to connect and play.
Mayor Cr Stefan Koomen said the upgrades reflect Council ongoing commitment to providing high-quality recreational spaces for residents of all ages and abilities.
“Playgrounds are at the heart of neighbourhoods, they’re places where families come together, children stay active and friendships are formed. As a parent, I see firsthand how much my own children love spending time at our local playground,” he said.
“By investing in our local playgrounds, we’re creating places where children of all abilities can play, explore and thrive, while also providing welcoming spaces for families and the broader community to come together.”
The latest upgrades form part of Council’s broader commitment to deliver 26 playground renewals across the municipality as part of the 2025/26 budget. The playgrounds are well designed, accessible and enjoyable outdoor spaces.
The playgrounds upgrades include:
Barton Mews Playground, Berwick. $150,000 invested, includes landscaping works, new swing sets, two rock walls and tube slide, providing a variety of play opportunities for different age groups.
Terrace Reserve, Narre Warren South. $170,000 invested, includes new accessible play elements, cubby house and nature play features and both junior and senior slides.
Central Parkway Playground, Cranbourne West. $165,000 invested, includes caterpillar slide, firepole and a multi-age challenge course.
Singleton Playground, Endeavour Hills. $150,000 invested, includes a climbing cube, spiral spinner and a freestanding pentatonic chime panel.
