Acer rubrum (Canadian maple)

This is a very common deciduous tree in North America and Canada, becoming increasingly popular in Australia. It is a beautiful rounded tree with upright branches when young, maturing to a more rounded canopy, to about 10m in height.

One of the best trees for autumn colour. Leaves stay green longer than other varieties before turning bright orange to deep red. All parts of the tree, for example flowers, twigs and seeds, are red in varying shades.
