The City of Casey acknowledges the passing of former Councillor Geoff Ablett.

Geoff was a City of Casey Councillor from 2008-2020 and served as Mayor in 2008/09, 2013/14 and 2017/18.

During his time on Council, Geoff was a strong advocate for improving transport in the City of Casey through the Commit to Casey campaign. A dedicated volunteer himself, he encouraged greater volunteering across Casey, championed involvement and investment in local sports, and encouraged greater community participation in Council decisions.

He led key advocacy efforts to improve to improve Casey ‘s road network and public transport, and during his time on Council was involved in many significant milestones for the Casey community including the opening of Bunjil Place, Selandra Community Hub and Casey Stadium.

Geoff dedicated much of his life to serving the Casey community and will be remembered by many for his dedication and the work he delivered.
