Hampton Park tennis players this week celebrated the official opening of the upgraded tennis pavilion at Robert Booth Reserve.
The $1.1 million project was jointly funded by Council and the Victorian Government, who provided a $550,000 Community Sports and Recreation Grant, and includes a full refurbishment of the building’s interior.
The improvements include:
- new accessible amenities
- kitchen extension
- social room extension
- new office and storage areas
- accessible pathways and landscaping.
City of Casey Mayor, Michelle Crowther said extending the pavilion meant existing members could make much better use of the space, while also allowing for future growth and greater participation in sport.
“This is now a much more welcoming space for the community and it’s wonderful to see the members of the Hampton Park Tennis Club enjoying the new facilities, which includes more space indoors and more shelter outside,” Cr Crowther said.
