Refugee Week 2020 begins on 14 June and ends on 20 June – World Refugee Day. This year, we celebrate the “Year of Welcome”.
Each year across Australia and the world, we celebrate the positive contributions made by refugees in our society and communities.
The City of Casey is proud to be home to the fourth-largest refugee and asylum-seeking population in Victoria. Our refugee and asylum-seeking communities continue to grow, being the very fabric of our Council workforce and the Casey community.
As an official Refugee Welcome Zone, Council is committed to welcoming refugees, enhancing the cultural and religious diversity within our community.
Council takes this opportunity to recognise the unique and resilient experiences of our refugee and persons seeking asylum communities. We value the enriching contributions they have and continue to make to our community.
We will continue to support our refugee and persons seeking asylum communities to enjoy full and equal opportunities across the City of Casey.
