Local artists invited to apply for 12-month studio residencies

EAH 26

Expressions of Interest are now open for the Emerging Artist Hub, a City of Casey initiative supporting emerging artists and creative practitioners to grow and thrive in Melbourne’s southeast.

Located at Narre Warren Mechanics Hall, the purpose-built creative hub features individual studio spaces, alongside shared areas for messy and wet work, workshops, and small exhibitions of residents’ artworks.

Successful applicants will receive fee-free studio space for 12 months, commencing in August 2026. Participants will also have opportunities to present projects, deliver public programs, and activate the space.

City of Casey Mayor Cr Stefan Koomen said, “The Emerging Artist Hub will open new doors for skills development and creative growth, allowing local artists to build their practice, collaborate, and share ideas.”

Expressions of Interest are open to emerging artists, collectives, and creative organisations working across all art forms, particularly those connected to Casey and Melbourne’s southeast. Applications close Tuesday 30 June.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to attend a site visit at the Webb Street Hub on:

  • Saturday 30 May, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
  • Saturday 13 June, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
