Join the Casey Nature and Sustainability Community Leadership Program

Sustainability Leadership program

Casey residents with a passion for their local environmental and sustainability are invited to join the City of Casey Nature and Sustainability Community Leadership Program and lead positive change in the community.

The program includes ten in‑person sessions delivered between May and October where participants will develop their leadership skills, learn about local environmental, climate and sustainability issues and build an understanding of how to bring community together around shared action to protect nature. A First Nations facilitator will co-lead the program, also embedding Indigenous knowledge and respect for Country.

City of Casey Mayor, Cr Stefan Koomen said, “This program empowers our community to lead meaningful local action on environment, climate and sustainability challenges by bringing together passionate residents with expert facilitators and First Nations knowledge.”

“I encourage residents who have an interest in this area to join in as we work to build a more resilient future for Casey.”

The program is open to community members aged over 18 and no prior qualifications or project plans are required - participants will be supported to develop these during the program.

Expressions of interest to join the program are open until April 27. For more information and to apply, go to conversations.casey.vic.gov.au
