Improved bus services for Casey following strong advocacy push

Bus Advocacy

The City of Casey has welcomed new State Government funding to improve local bus services, delivering on a key priority identified through Council’s Building a Better Casey advocacy campaign.

As part of the Victorian Budget 2026/27, funding has been announced to:

•    Upgrade, extend and realign bus services to address coverage gaps across Botanic Ridge, Casey Fields, Clyde, Junction Village and Devon Meadows.
•    Longer operating hours between Berwick and Pakenham (route 928).

This investment will help improve access to jobs, education, shopping, health services and community facilities for Casey residents, while providing better connections across one of Victoria’s fastest growing municipalities.

City of Casey Mayor Cr Stefan Koomen welcomed the announcement and said that it demonstrated the value of Council advocating on behalf of residents.

“Through our Building a Better Casey campaign, Council has consistently advocated for improved public transport options, including better bus routes, stronger connections and more frequent services," he said.

“Reliable and accessible public transport is essential for a growing community like Casey.  We thank the State Government for listening to our community’s needs and investing in better bus services for our community.  These improvements will make a real difference for residents who rely on public transport every day."

Council will continue working with all levels of government to secure the infrastructure and services needed to support Casey’s growing population and ensure residents have access to safe, efficient and connected transport options.
