The City of Casey is aiming to plant 5000 new trees and plants in Cranbourne West on Sunday 26 July as part of National Tree Planting Day, and the Casey community is invited to join in the fun.
This year’s planting will add to work done in previous years, helping to create an important habitat for local wildlife as part of a nature corridor eventually linking to Brooklyn Greens Reserve.
City of Casey Mayor, Cr Stefan Koomen encouraged Casey residents who enjoy gardening or who are just keen to do their bit for the local environment to grab their gardening gloves and join in.
“National Tree Day is always a lot of fun and in addition to the planting we will also have information stalls, a roving entertainer and plants to give away.”
The Planet Arc National Tree Day is Australia's largest tree planting and nature care event.
Registration is essential to ensure a smooth and organised event and if necessary, to provide updates regarding the day's activities. Secure your place via https://bit.ly/casey-tree-planting
