Council explores future opportunities for Hampton Park Hill

The City of Casey is reviewing the long-term vision for the Hampton Park Hill Precinct to consider future options for the area and whether the current planning settings remain appropriate.

River Gum Ward Councillor Lynette Pereira said the review was an opportunity to revisit the vision for the area and help deliver positive outcomes for the community.

“Since being re-elected to Council in 2024 I have heard from many River Gum Ward residents about their concerns for the Hampton Park Hill area, particularly around the future plans for the Hallam Road Landfill site,” said Cr Pereira.

“I want the community to know that I have heard you, and I am advocating for you. Council has recently set up a new Advisory Group specific for the Hampton Park Hill Precinct to help guide the review.

“This is about looking ahead and making sure we have a strong vision for the future of this precinct that reflects what the community values and what they want to see. It is also important that we consider opportunities to support jobs, investment and economic growth, while balancing the needs and expectations of residents.”

The Advisory Group includes Council Planning Officers, as well as Mayor Cr Michelle Crowther, Deputy Mayor Cr Anthony Walter and River Gum Ward Cr Lynette Pereira.

Findings and recommendations from the group will be presented to Councillors by the end of the year and will help inform the future direction of the Precinct.
