We are calling for musicians or dance performers in Casey to showcase their talent to the world. Talents will be displayed at the Chengdu International Sister Cities Youth Music Festival 2019. City of Casey is searching for a local act (solo artist or duo) to represent our City.
About the event
Date of festival: 25 to 29 July 2019
The programme will run across four busy days. This includes a grand opening, creative and diverse music shows and outdoor performances. Hospitality will be provided by the Dujiangyan Municipal Government during the event. This includes accommodation (twin share), meals and transportation within Dujiangyan.
Event background
City of Casey’s relationship with Dujiangyan was formalised in 2018. The cities signed an economic cooperation partnership, to work together in areas of culture, trade, education and sport. In the same year the two cities conducted a Soccer Exchange Program. The two Casey youth teams played against local schools in the Sichuan province.
This year, City of Casey has been invited to take part in the Chengdu International Sister Cities Youth Music Festival. Held at the Dujiangyan Venu the event is sponsored by the Chengdu Municipal People's Government. The festival aims to promote friendship and exchanges, while showcasing artists and musicians.
The successful event has had a high international profile for more than 10 years. Each year it attracts more than 500 international performers from 19 countries.
Criteria for consideration

Be a resident of City of Casey

Be a solo or duo performance only
-
Be aged between 16 and 44 years
- Have professional performance experience

Be able to prepare three to five performance pieces, each approximately 3-5 minutes in length

Provide video footage of past performances
- Be available to travel to Chengdu, China 25 - 29 July 2019

Hold a valid and current passport

Be able to pay for other incidental costs not covered by the hospitality of the Chengdu Municipal People's Government or City of Casey (eg. travel insurance, medical costs, spending money, etc.)

Shortlisted applicants and auditions will start in the middle of April. The successful group will be notified by the end of April.
