The City of Casey is inviting residents to come together and celebrate a significant sporting milestone at the Casey Demons Heritage Round.
Held at Casey Fields on Sunday 14 June, the Springvale Scorpions Football Club — now the Casey Demons — will celebrate 30 years since its historic 1996 premiership win, during the VFL and VFLW double-header against Essendon.
City of Casey Mayor Cr Stefan Koomen said, “Heritage Round is a chance to honour the legacy of the Springvale Scorpions. With just 13 seconds remaining in the 1996 VFA Grand Final, Graeme Yeats’ match-winning goal created a moment that still resonates with players, supporters and the wider community.
“2026 also marks two decades since Casey Fields hosted its first VFL game between the Casey Scorpions and the Box Hill Hawks. Casey Fields has been a cornerstone of our local sporting community, hosting high-quality VFL matches and providing a pathway for talented players to grow and succeed.
“I encourage everyone to come along to Heritage Round, be part of the celebration, and show their pride in Casey Fields and its important role in Victorian football.”
Casey Demons Heritage Round will kick off with the VFLW match at 11:05 am, followed by the VFL clash at 2:05 pm.
Entry is $10 or $5 for concession. Visiting members and children under 15 can attend free.
