Calling Casey’s creatives: arts funding opening soon

Applications for the City of Casey's 2027-2029 Creative and Cultural Development Fund open on Tuesday 1 September.  

The fund is designed to support local professional artists, arts organisations and community arts groups to deliver creative projects and cultural initiatives that enrich the Casey community.  

Successful applicants will receive between $5,000 and $15,000 per year for three years (in 2027, 2028 and 2029) to support the delivery of creative projects and cultural experiences in Casey. 

City of Casey Mayor Cr Stefan Koomen said, “At the City of Casey, we believe that arts and culture play an important role in creating a connected and inclusive community. This is why we are proud to support local artists, arts organisations and community arts groups through our Creative and Cultural Development Fund.”  

The Sri Lankan Dance Academy is a past recipient of the Creative and Cultural Development Fund. Director Chalanka Athalage said, "The funding provided has offered not only essential financial support, but also significant moral encouragement, enabling the Academy to deliver high-quality cultural and community programs with confidence and sustainability.”
