Australia Day is a time to connect with friends and family, or just relax, while also reflecting on everything that the day means to us individually and as a community.
At the City of Casey, we acknowledge that Australia Day is recognised in many different ways across our community. It’s a day to reflect on what it means to be Australian, to celebrate contemporary Australia and to acknowledge our history.
This year, some Casey residents celebrated the day in a very special way as we hosted a Citizenship Ceremony at Bunjil Place. 200 adults and 39 children became Australian Citizens at the ceremony, and it was great to see representatives from 34 nationalities present - living proof that Australia is a wonderfully multicultural society.
Radiologist and nuclear medicine specialist, Dr Yvonne Ho AM, is the City of Casey's 2023 Australia Day Ambassador, and we were honoured to host her to speak on this significant occasion.
On behalf of the City of Casey, congratulations, welcome, and all the best to our new fellow Australian citizens as you continue to call this great nation your home!
