Urgent requests and storm events
On public land
If a tree on public land is threatening public safety, please report it to us immediately by calling (03) 9705 5200. We will attend as a priority to:
- fallen branches blocking roads and footpaths
- trees causing damage to private property
- anything that poses a hazard to you
We will make the situation safe within 24 hours.
We try to clear everything up in one go but this might not be possible if we receive a lot of requests. We will make sure to completely clear the area in the following weeks. If you notice debris on your property or nature strip after 4 weeks, please report it online.

On private property
For dangerous situations on your private property, please contact the SES on 132 500.

You can report the following concerns online:
- A fallen or snapped tree branch needs collecting.
- A fallen tree needs collecting.
- A tree is causing a concern (size, debris, branches).
- A tree is unhealthy (dying, pests, disease).
- You would like us to plant a new tree.

What happens next
- In most cases, we will assess your request and inspect the area within 10 business days. Assessments for planting new trees may take longer.
Removing tree stumps
After we have removed a tree, we will:
- mark the stump with paint
- return and remove the stump within 4 weeks
- organise for a replacement tree to planted if necessary
The process can take time because we need to use specialist equipment. If you find that the stump has not been removed after 4 weeks, please contact us.
Sometimes after high winds and bad weather, we may take longer to attend to your request. We will return and complete the job as soon as possible.
