Online applications

The City of Casey's preferred method of receiving employment applications is through its online system.

The online system allows our organisation to manage the recruitment process and to enable applications to track the progress of their applications.

Once you have applied for a role which interests you, you can log in to keep your details current, apply for other roles and choose to be notified via email of any new positions which match your preferences.

Our Recruitment Process

We aim to advance applications as efficiently as possible and to keep you informed on how it is progressing.

Our recruitment process consists of the following:

Your application

The City of Casey no longer requires applicants to address key selection criteria as part of an application.

Once you have read the position description for a role you would like to apply for, apply for the job by using the online portal and uploading the required documentation.

Shortlisting Applicants

Once an advertised role’s closing date has passed, we will prepare a short list of candidates for interviews.
Short-listed candidates will be contacted by phone to arrange an interview time.

Formal Interviews

If you are selected for an interview, we will ask a variety of behavioural-based questions.
Try to answer with examples of what you have personally accomplished in specific situations.

You will need to tell the panel about:

  • The situation or task
  • How you managed it
  • The outcome you achieved

You should avoid answering these questions by telling the panel what your organisation or team did, or general comments on what you would do.

Assessments

Depending on the requirements of the role, you may be asked to complete one of our assessments.
These may include medical, behavioural or functional testing.

Reference and Qualification Checks

We will conduct reference checks with two of your most current or relevant nominated referees and ask you to provide any qualifications or licences relevant to the role.

Probity Checks

If you have successfully progressed through to this stage of the process, you will be asked to complete a variety of probity checks.

It is a requirement for all roles at Casey that all new employees satisfactorily complete a:

  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police Check
  • Check to confirm Eligibility to work in Australia

Offer and commencement paperwork

You will be notified via email that your Letter of Offer is ready to be reviewed via your candidate profile.
You can easily accept your offer and complete remaining paperwork online and then you are ready to start your journey at Casey!

Unsuccessful applications

If you have not been successfully shortlisted for a role, you will be notified via email.
We appreciate the time and effort you put into your application so if you are not successful in the first instance, please keep your eye out for any other vacancies that you're interested in and don't hesitate to apply.

Privacy

We are committed to the protection of your privacy. Your application will be dealt with in the strictest confidence. Details contained in your application will not be shared with anyone not directly connected with processing your application without your permission.
