Amendment GC103

Background

Amendment GC103 is required to facilitate for the timely, coordinated and consistent delivery of the Monash Freeway Upgrade Project. The project will deliver significant costs savings in terms of travel time, improved safety and reliability and vehicle operating costs.

Proposed changes to the Casey Planning Scheme

As a result of the approval of this Amendment, the following may now be achieved:

  • New shared use path along the Princes Link Highway from the Beaconsfield Interchange to the Princes Highway, improving local links between Cranbourne and Berwick with Beaconsfield and Officer/Pakenham.
  • Duplication of existing O’Shea Road between Clyde Road and Soldiers Road, reducing traffic congestion.
  • Extension of duplicated O’Shea Road from Soldiers Road to Beaconsfield Interchange, further reducing traffic congestion.
  • Alteration of the extent of the existing O’Shea Road public acquisition overlay, allowing for the upgrade and extension of O’Shea Road.

Ministerial Approval 

The Minister for Planning has approved Planning Scheme Amendment GC103 to the Casey Planning Scheme.

The amendment came into operation when it was published in the Government Gazette on 29 October 2018.
