The City of Casey has received an application under Section 72 of the Planning and Environment Act 1987, seeking proposed amendments to the planning permit and the endorsed plans that are relevant to waste, materials recycling, and landfill operations at 950 Ballarto Road, Botanic Ridge.

The application is currently being considered by Council in accordance with the requirements of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and Council’s procedures. Council is currently liaising with the applicant, statutory referral authorities, and non-statutory referral teams in relation to this application.

The application process also allows any person affected by the proposed application to lodge a letter of support, or objection in relation to the planning application.

•    Advertising, documents will be available here for 14 days
•    How to lodge a letter of support or objection can be found here

Council anticipates that this application will be undergoing public notice (advertising) during February.

Meanwhile, Council continues to work with and support the Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) and SBI Group in reducing offsite impacts associated with the landfill operations on the land. We remain mindful that EPA are the primary agency for offsite odour emissions, and continue to encourage those who are impacted to report the occurrences to EPA and/or SBI Group directly.
