Register your pet

Register your pet for the first time at the City of Casey.

Renew pet registration

You must renew your pet's registration by 10 April every year.

Transfer or cancel your pet registration

If your pet was previously registered to someone else, or at another council, you can transfer the registration to you. If you are moving out of Casey or your pet has died, you can cancel the registration.

Keep extra animals or livestock

The maximum number of pets you can keep without a permit will depend of the size of your land. If you want to keep extra animals, you must apply for an Excess Animals and Livestock permit.

Microchipping and desexing

You must microchip your pet before you register it. Cats must be desexed, unless you have written proof of an exemption. You are not required to desex your dog, but you will receive a discount for registering a desexed dog.

Restricted, menacing, dangerous dogs

If your dog is a restricted breed, declared menacing or dangerous, there may be restrictions around how and when you can keep it.

Cats not permitted in Botanic Ridge and Settlers Run

Because cats can be dangerous to native and endangered animals, they are not allowed in Botanic Ridge or Settlers Run estates.
