The Department of Health and Human Services website provides useful food safety information, such as how to keep food safe, complying with the Food Act and Food Standards Code, Food Allergens and how to keep food safe during an emergency.

A food safety program is a written plan that shows what a business does to ensure that the food it sells is safe for people to eat. It is an important tool to help businesses handle, process or sell potentially hazardous foods. The FoodSmart website provides an approved template that allows different types of food retail and foodservice businesses to develop their own food safety programs. This can be submitted to Council via email.

The Department of Health and Human Services website provides useful infection prevention and control information specific to the body art and tattooing industry, hairdressing and beauty therapy. This information helps businesses comply with the Public Health and Wellbeing Act and Regulations.
