Australian-Filipino artist Joshua Lee Modina explores ideas of Asian stereotypes, character traits, and derogatory comments - disguised as jokes - that are often directed his way. The work is autobiographical as I am presenting a specific reflection of my Father and Mother’s love for both fishing and the ocean, while also adding representation of certain Asian traits and stereotypes.
