Kindergarten term fees

Kindergarten term fees

In 2018, it will cost $425 per term for a child to attend one of our kindergartens. A child can attend up to 15 hours of kindergarten per week. There are 4 terms in the kindergarten year.

All your fees go towards maintaining and operating the kindergarten. The fees cover the gap between the cost to run the kindergarten and funding from the State Government. Because funding changes every year, the fees we charge for kindergarten may also change.

First term fees

First term fees are payable in November/December, the year before your child is due to attend kindergarten.

Pay your fees before each term starts

You need to pay your term fees before each term begins. You will receive an invoice with exact due dates well before the start of each term.

Paying your fees on time will ensure your child can attend kindergarten.

Reduced fees

Some families may be eligible for free or low cost kindergarten.

Kindergarten Fee Subsidy (KFS)

If your child is eligible for the KFS, they can attend up to 15 hours of kindergarten for free.

The Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET) has the most up-to-date KFS eligibility criteria.

How to receive the subsidy

Your kindergarten service will apply for the kindergarten fee subsidy on your behalf. You must provide us with your proof of eligibility by:

Child Care Benefit

Our kindergartens are registered with Centrelink as Registered Child Care Providers. This means you may be eligible to claim your kindergarten fees through Centrelink.

The Department of Human Services has more information about the Child Care Benefit eligibility criteria.

Twin discount

For twins, the 2017 term fees are:

  • $425 per term for one child
  • $297.50 per term for the second child

If you have triplets or more, you will qualify for the Kindergarten Fee Subsidy.

Parents on a payment plan may continue to receive invoices and notices. You can keep these for your records but continue to pay as directed by your payment plan.

Other fees to be aware of

Besides the term fees, you need to pay the following one-off fees.

Registration fee

You need to pay a non-refundable $20 fee per child to register your child for kindergarten. This fee contributes to the running of the kindergarten program. You do not need to pay this fee if:

  • your family identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • your application was received directly from a secondary service

Deposit to accept place

To accept your kindergarten offer and secure your child's place in kindergarten, you need to pay a non-refundable $50 deposit. This deposit will be deducted from your term 1 fees.

If you are eligible for a Kindergarten Fee Subsidy, you may not need to pay this fee.

Independently managed kindergartens

Independently managed kindergartens set their own fees and structure. Please contact the individual kindergarten for more information.
