About our services

Council works with the Victorian Government to provide support for you and your baby. This is a free service for all parents with new babies in the City of Casey. It is known as Maternal & Child Health (MCH) and it is designed to give mums and dads all the support they need with their baby.

The service includes:

When you get home from the hospital

In the first week or two of bringing your baby home from the hospital, an MCH nurse will:

  • Come to your home and give you an introduction to the service
  • Answer any questions you may have
  • Check on you and your baby's wellbeing

You can also:

Ongoing support

  • You will have 9 more 'key age' appointments with your MCH nurse (from birth to 3½ years)
  • You can make extra appointments with your nurse if you need them

  • Council offers free and regular immunisations sessions
  • Your nurse will book you into a First Time Parents Group (if this is your first child)
