Which building works require a permit?
Building permits apply to most new constructions and new extensions. Some minor works do not require a building permit.
Who issues building permits?
Building permits are issued by a private building surveyor nominated by the owner.
Other structures and permit requirements
Permits and conditions may apply to other structures such as balconies, swimming pools, spas, fences, decks, water tanks and solar panels.
