What is the YouthLinx Program?
The City of Casey YouthLinx program offers activities for young people aged 11-16 years and their families.
The service aims to provide support, assistance and encouragement to young people and their families that live in or have a strong connection to the City of Casey.
The YouthLinx program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Family Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FACSIA) and the City of Casey.
Activities for young people
The YouthLinx program provides a number of programs. The following activities are provided through the YouthLinx program.
- YouthLinx Activity Services (YAS)
- Personal Development Programs
What is the YouthLinx Activities Service?
A fun, recreational program for young people aged 11-16 years living, attending school or have a strong connection to the City of Casey.
The programs are designed to provide young people with an opportunity to explore and experience challenging recreational and personal development activities.
Young people are encouraged to be involved in the program and activity planning.
Activities may include sport, art/craft, cooking, games and excursions.
What are the personal development programs?
Personal development programs are designed to meet specific needs such as a young women's program, homework help program or a health program. The programs are designed to help young people develop skills and knowledge for the achievement of personal goals.
When and where are the programs held?
The programs are conducted for 8 weeks of each school term.
Programs are held on weeknights between 3.30pm-6pm at various locations throughout the City of Casey.
Activities for families
The YouthLinx program offers a number of programs and activities for parents and families providing opportunities for young people and their parents to strengthen their relationship and develop new skills. The following activities are provided through the YouthLinx program.
- Family fun events
- Family Challenge Camps- such as the Girls Weekend Away
- Parent and other Information evenings
Programs or workshops can also be tailored to a particular issue, group or need.
How do young people and families join the programs on offer?
Contact the YouthLinx Coordinator to find out where the groups and programs are located or check out our website.
Young people and their families can be referred by friends, schools, youth workers, community agencies and other service providers or they can refer themselves to the program.
The YouthLinx programs rotate to various community venues to maximise access for young people and their families.
How much do the programs cost?
There is no cost for young people to join the YouthLinx program or personal development programs however, there may be a small charge for excursions and camps.

City of Casey Youth Services commits to working ethically with young people and has adopted the YACVIC Code of Ethical Practice for the Youth Sector.
