Why was this facility developed?
The Casey Volunteers Matcher was developed to assist organisations in the City of Casey who need volunteers.
Who should use this facility?
Individuals who would like to volunteer for organisations that operate within the City of Casey can register their details for free.
All organisations that operate within the City of Casey are invited to register their volunteering requirements for free.
What does this facility do?
The Volunteers Matcher provides a free and easy means to link people looking to volunteer with organisations who need volunteers.
How does the Volunteers Matcher work?
This Volunteers Matcher has been designed to be a simple and easy to use tool for organisations and individuals looking to volunteer while remaining easy to manage and cost effective for the City of Casey to operate.
To achieve these aims, the Volunteers Matcher is automated but maintains the privacy of organisations and individuals registered on it. To register, just return to the Volunteers Matcher start page and follow the links. It's as easy as registering your details and the website does the rest.
Once you have pressed the "register" button at the bottom of the form, organisations who have already registered will automatically receive an email outlining your profile if you have nominated the area of work, (aged care, gardening, sport etc.) that applies to their volunteering requirements.
If the organisation is interested in learning more about you they can simply click the option to send you an email with their details and a request to contact them. All registered organisations, including those that register after an individual, have access to the existing database of individuals looking to volunteer in the City of Casey.
What happens after I register?
Once an individual submits their registration their details are automatically added to the volunteers database, a confirmation of their details is displayed, a registration confirmation email is sent to them and emails are also sent to the relevant registered volunteering organisations.
An individual will then receive an email from any interested organisations and after 55 days the individual will receive an invitation to renew their registration before it expires after 60 days.
For organisations, a confirmation email is sent and from then on details of any new individual registrations that match their requirements will also be automatically sent out for them to consider. Organisations can login at any time to view individuals that have registered previously. There is no need for organisations to renew a registration but they can, like individuals, easily update their profile at any time using their Login and Password.
What happens when an organisation is interested in an individual?
When an organisation receives an email containing an individual's profile that they are interested in pursuing, they can click on a link that emails the individual. This email contains request for the individual to contact the organisation that is interested in them.
It is then in the individual’s own best interests to contact the organisation as soon as possible, to further discuss their skills and experience. It will then be up to both the individual and organisation to proceed from there.
How is my privacy protected?
The automated process ensures that the organisations are not aware of your email address and thus it is up to the individual to decide how much of their name, age, etc. is disclosed in the registration process. Individuals are encouraged to ensure that the information given is accurate and detailed enough for prospective organisations to have enough information to judge whether they want to contact you.
Anyone can register and the registrations are not moderated, however the City of Casey reserves the right to remove any individual or organisation that it has not registered in good faith, such as offensive or inappropriate registrations.
Even so, the validity of people using this facility cannot be assured and due caution should be exercised.

What if I lose my login or password?
Simply visit the login page enter the email address that you used in your registration and your login and password will be automatically emailed to you.
How long does a registration remain current?
Organisation registrations will always remain current but individual registrations will lapse after 60 days to ensure that the database remains "fresh". Individuals will receive a reminder that their registration is due to expire and will have the opportunity to readily renew their registration for another 60 day period.
Can I cancel my registration?
Yes, regardless of whether you are an individual or organisation, you can cancel your registration by simply logging into the Volunteers Matcher with your login and password. Once logged in you will see an option to cancel your registration at the top of the ‘Edit Profile’ page.
