Projects
To address perceptions of safety on the rail network a safety on train’s campaign was conducted during Community Safety month. The aim of the campaign is to raise the awareness of the actions commuters can take to improve their safety and security. Representatives from Victoria Police, Metro, Casey Cardinia Transport Connections and the City of Casey, visited railway stations to offer practical tips and advice on maintaining personal and vehicle safety when using public transport. Practical banner pens containing safety messages, were given away to commuters
The project offers community groups the opportunity to host Let’s Get Travelling information sessions. The sessions aim to equip residents with the knowledge and confidence to utilise public transport for their day to day needs in a safe manner. Train and bus routes, bus numbering, ticketing procedures and the destinations that are available for residents to access are comprehensively explained to attendees.
Casey Cardinal and Baw Baw Shire Council Transport Connections Projects formed a partnership with Chisholm Institute of TAFE to promote Carpooling and increase the awareness of Public Transport options for students who study at the Berwick campus.
