South East Councils Climate Change Alliance - SECCCA
In 2004, the five councils immediately adjacent to Western Port formed the Western Port Greenhouse Alliance to collaborate in projects for responding to climate change. In 2009, they were joined by three councils from further afield to form the South East Councils Climate Change Alliance.
The South East Councils Climate Change Alliance - SECCCA - works through partnerships involving Councils, community, industry and state and national government. SECCCA projects include greenhouse gas abatement for the residential and business sector, in biosequestration and in adaptation, from coastal planning to emergency management.
