The City of Casey Youth Services has a dedicated School Liaison Officer who works in partnerships with schools, the community and youth sector to explore gaps in service delivery and support and address service coordination of youth services across Casey.
The School Liaison Officer is the key contact point for Youth Services and schools across Casey.
Personal Development Programs & Workshops
The City of Casey offers a variety of personal development programs for young people. These programs can be provided to schools or other agencies. Most programs are free subject to availability, bookings are essential. Topics can include communication skills , social skills, self esteem and leadership; other programs can be specifically tailored to suit an organisations needs.

Programs Offered by Youth Services:
Bookings are essential. Programs are generally free for school and community agencies, commercial rates apply for business users. A $30 cancellation fee may be apply if the program is cancelled without two business days notice.
SHARP - Sexual Health and Relationship Program
This program is adapted from the Sexual Health Education Manual for Young People in Alternative School Settings and is supported by evidence based research into the sexual health of young people. Some of the topics that will be covered include:

- Sexually Transmitted Infections - STI's
- Contraception
- Pregnancy
- Sexuality
- Self Esteem/Body image
- Communication
- Rights and Responsibilities
- Legal issues
- Support and Referal
Target Group: Year 9-Year 12. Suitable for a small group, however can be adapted for a classroom size group.
Program Length: This is a four session program, however components of the program can be modified into one sesson.
My Self - Self Esteem Program
This program is strengths based and will assist young people to view themselves in a positive way. Young people will learn about what self esteem is and how to increase their self esteem and feel good about themselves. Some of the topics that will be covered include:
- Self esteem
- Positive thinking/self talk
- Self belief
- Body image
- Relationships
- Friendships
- Bullying
- Support and Referral
Target groups: Year 7 - 12 Suitable for a small group only.
Program Length: This is a four session program, however components of the program can be modified into one sesson.
Y Girls
The Y Girls program is adapted from the Girls on the Go Program developed by Southern Health. This program is for girls only and covers issues that relate to being a young female in today's world. Some of the topics that will be covered include:

- Body image/self esteem
- Puberty
- Role models
- Friendships/relationships
- Peer pressure
- Stress management
- Communication
- Conflict resolution
- Making positive choices
- Body language
- Keeping safe

Target group: Girls in Year 8 - Year 10. Suitable for small groups only.

AMP-Adolescent Male Program
This program is developed specifically for boys and covers issues and topics relevant to being a young male in today's world. Some of the topics that will be covered include:

- Body image/self esteem

- Peer pressure
- Stress management
- Communications
- Conflict resolution

Body Think
This is a self esteem and body image workshop developed by the Butterfly Foundation. Body Think deals with issues related to body image and physical appearance. It can be delivered in a two hour workshop and can be adapted for both boys and girls. Some of the topics that will be covered include:

- The media and body image
- Support and referral
Target Group: Grade 6 - Year 12. Suitable for small groups only.
Program Length: This is one session only.
Citizens of the World - Anti Bullying Program
This program will explore the forms of bullying which can include, verbal, physical, cyber bullying and antisocial behaviour such as exclusion and gossip. This program will help young people deal with these issues in a safe and supportive manner and focus on building the resilience of young people and helping young people to develop their support network and establishing positive friendships. Some of the topics that will be covered will include:
- What is bullying?
- Why is bullying harmful?
- Cyber bullying
- What are bystanders?
- Student code of conduct
- Rights and responsibilities

Young People and Road Trauma
This workshop focuses on a true story, Todd's Story. Todd's Story explores the true story of a young man who made poor choices and suffered severe consequences. At 15, Todd stole a car and drove drunk. This workshop includes viewing of a short film and discussion and activities around making safer and positive choices and looking after your friends. This workshop can run for 45 minutes or as a 30 minute presentation to a larger group. Some of the topics that will be covered include:
- Watching the Todd's Story DVD
- Effects of alcohol and other drugs
- Making choices
- Keeping safe
- Peer pressure
- Legal consequences
- Party safe
- Looking after your mates
Target group: Year 9 - Year 12. Suitable for a small or large group.
Program Length: This is one session only.
Alcohol and Other Drugs
This workshop is suitable for Secondary School Health and Well Being Days but can be adapted to suit other school needs. All workshops are activity and discussion based and focuses on making positive choices and caring for your friends. Some of the topics that will be covered include:
- Types of drugs
- Classification of drugs
- Legal/illegal drugs
- Choices
- Effects of alcohol and other drugs

Target Group: Year 7 - Year 10. Suitable for a small or large group.
VCE Stress Management & Study Skills
In this interactive workshop, young people will learn about what stress is, what they can do about it, what happens if it is left unchecked and how they can manage it more effectively in their lives. This workshop will also explore ways to study effectively and offers strategies for getting the most out of studying. Some of the topics that will be covered include:
- Career choice
- School/Life balance
- Mental health
- Managing stress
- Relaxation skills
- Learning styles
- How do you study?
- Studying tips
- Support/referral
Target Group: Year 11 and 12. Suitable for a small or large group. To be delivered term 1 or term 3 before exams.

Leadership Program
This Leadership Program aims to develop the leadership skills of young people as well as assist young people to contribute positively in their community. Some of the topics that will be covered inlcude:

Overview of City of Casey Youth Services
Suitable for all ages and provides an overview of the services offered by City of Casey Youth Services as well as the resources and activities that young people can participate in.
