EmailThe Victorian Governments long awaited new Residential 'ResCode' came into force on the 24th August 2001 replacing the previous codes The Good Design Guide for Medium Density Housing' and Victorian Code for Residential Development - VicCode 1.
ResCode not only changes the requirements of the previous codes but also addresses a number new areas for the protection of amenity, neighbourhood character and the environmental standards; introducing new siting and setback measures with new factors such as overlooking, not traditionally considered under building legislation.
