Description
Originally part of the historic Springfield Estate, the Old Cheese Factory allows visitors to step back in time and explore the historic buildings, including the Homestead Café, or enjoy the beautifully-landscaped gardens, large children’s playground and barbecue/picnic facilities.
The majestic Old Cheese Factory, featuring the 1860s historic Springfield Homestead, Cheese Factory and Kitchen Wash House, stands as a tall reminder of Australia’s early history.
The site is available to hire for:
- Wedding ceremonies and receptions
- Social functions
- Children’s birthday parties
- Meetings, conferences and training sessions
- Gallery exhibitions
- Community group meetings and activities
The site is also home to a variety of regular groups running art and craft programs, Farmers’ Markets, performing arts activities and training programs.
The Old Cheese Factory is managed and operated by the City of Casey.
