Cranbourne Meteorites

The exact year in which the first of the Cranbourne meteorites was discovered is somewhat vague. The first mention of the meteorite resulted from the Melbourne Exhibition held in 1854.

The twelfth meteorite that was discovered in Cranbourne was unearthed in April 1982. It was donated to the then Cranbourne Shire Council for display purposes.  Currently, it is on display at the City of Casey's Narre Warren Customer Service Centre.

A history of the meteorites was prepared by the City of Casey and can be read in full by clicking on the link below.
