Fairhaven Family and Children's Centre opens in Cranbourne West: Issued 18 September 2012
MEDIA RELEASE: 18 September 2012
City of Casey Mayfield Ward Councillor Amanda Stapledon, on behalf of the Mayor Cr Sam Aziz, opened another first class community facility, the Fairhaven Family and Children’s Centre, on Friday 14 September 2012 in Cranbourne West.
At the event, Cr Stapledon said ‘The early years of our children’s lives are vitally important.
‘Their formative learning experiences shape their development through childhood into adolescence and adult life.
‘With this in mind, it’s absolutely critical that Council offers our youngest citizens and their families every opportunity to ensure they receive the best possible start in life’, said Cr Stapledon.
The Fairhaven Family and Children’s Centre consists of three kindergarten rooms, two community rooms and Maternal and Child Health consulting rooms.
By incorporating Kindergarten and Maternal Child Health Services into this new facility, Council is providing an integrated system of service that delivers real benefits to local families.
The centre represents a more than $2.5 million investment in the future of Casey’s young people, of which the Victorian Government, through the Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD), contributed $545,000 funding.
‘We thank the Victorian Government for this contribution and look forward to continuing to partner with them in the future to deliver the best possible facilities for our residents’, added Cr Stapledon.
