MEDIA RELEASE: 3 July 2012
If you are aged between 5-12 years and want to learn AFL skills from the best in the business get along to the Melbourne Demons 2012 Superclinic at Casey Fields in Cranbourne East on Tuesday 10 July.
This free Superclinic is being staged by AFL Victoria and the Melbourne Football Club and is being supported by the City of Casey as part of its 30 year partnership with the Melbourne Football Club.
City of Casey Mayor Cr Sam Aziz encouraged all Casey’s Auskickers to support the event which will be held at Casey Fields’ main oval.
‘We hope that many of our local youngsters will take advantage of this free event which is being held in the school holidays.
‘This is a wonderful opportunity to rub shoulders with some Melbourne Football Club players and heroes and learn first hand the skills of the game’.
The entire Demons playing squad will be involved in the Superclinic and there will also be a visit from the Demon mascot Checker and Chuck, free giveaways and a barbecue.
Cr Aziz said the Superclinic was another positive aspect of Council’s partnership with the Melbourne Football Club.
‘One of the defining and unique features of this partnership is the delivery of community programs such as this Superclinic giving Casey young people direct access to players of an elite level football club.
‘AFL players have an incredible ability to influence the habits of young people and to encourage them to get involved in sport and to aim to be the best that they can be’.
