Loud Band Room opens at The Factory: Issued 27 June 2012

Music groups, bands, singers and instrumentalists can now put down their own tracks without padding out the garage or waking the neighbours at the new Loud Band Room at The Factory in Cranbourne East.
Developed by the City of Casey with financial support from the State Government, the dedicated recording and rehearsal studio was officially opened by City of Casey Mayor Cr Sam Aziz and Ms Inga Peulich MLC, Parliamentary Secretary for Education and Member for South Eastern Metropolitan Region, representing the Deputy Premier Peter Ryan on Saturday 23 June 2012.
City of Casey Mayor Cr Sam Aziz said at the opening ‘the new Loud Band Room will enable performing artists and solo artists to rehearse in a soundproof environment in a state-of-the-art facility.
‘It is well suited to school band rehearsal and recording projects, and it is expected that Casey’s youth bands and music focused community groups will use the space’.
The new facility features:
- Large recording/rehearsal room fitted with acoustic treatment to ensure that noise levels remain low
- High-quality PA system
- Control room, lounge and storage spaces
- Instruments available for hire
Cr Aziz encouraged rock, pop, metal, classical and country music groups or performers to use the facility.
‘The Loud Band Room is another great addition to the unique dedicated purposebuilt rehearsal venue for the performing arts in the City of Casey, The Factory.
‘The Factory is home to a wide range of Casey’s arts groups from all types of dancing lessons to singing and drama classes, choirs, bands, private instrumenttuition as well as drama and dance for people with a disability - there is something for everyone’.
Cranbourne’s Marnebek School band, Casey-born musician and singer Jessica-Jade Bruce and City of Casey Pipe Band piper Steven Everett performed at the opening.
