Families welcome opening of Carlisle Park Family and Children's Centre: Issued 4 June 2012
MEDIA RELEASE: 4 June 2012
Families in Cranbourne have welcomed the opening of a new multipurpose facility, the Carlisle Park Family and Children’s Centre, which was officially opened by City of Casey Mayor Cr Sam Aziz and Member for South Eastern Metropolitan Region Inga Peulich MP, who was representing Deputy Premier, the Hon Peter Ryan, on Saturday 2 June 2012.
Cr Aziz said at the opening of the $2.2 million centre ‘It’s very exciting to be here today to open yet another first class facility for our local community.
‘The Carlisle Park Family and Children’s Centre brings together a range of services that young families rely on under the one roof including three kindergarten playrooms, a community room and Maternal and Child Health consulting rooms’, said Cr Aziz.
The community room will be used by new parents, mothers’ groups and playgroups, and will be available for members of the community to book.
‘By housing a community-oriented space with kindergarten and maternal and child health services, Council is making it easier for parents and families to build relationships with nurses, kindergarten teachers and each other’, added Cr Aziz.
This centre represents a $2.2 million investment in the future of Casey’s young people with the State Government contributing $250,000 towards the facility.
‘Facilities like this are often not possible without State Government funding and as our city continues its rapid growth, Council will continue to look for opportunities to partner with the Victorian Government to deliver the very best facilities for our residents’, added Cr Aziz.
