Lost Dogs' Home now provides pound services for Casey - 8 June 2011
MEDIA RELEASE: 8 June 2011
Lost and impounded animals in the City of Casey can now be found at the Lost Dogs’ Home, 920 Thompsons Road, Cranbourne West.
City of Casey Mayor Cr Shar Balmes said that due to a change to Council’s pound services, the Lost Dogs’ Home is now the provider of pound services and should be contacted in the first instance should residents’ pets become lost.
‘Australia’s largest animal shelter, the Lost Dogs’ Home, provides a number of services to residents of Casey, including the important task of reuniting lost animals with their owners.
‘The Lost Dogs’ Home also has a range of animals for adoption, including puppies and kittens, so I encourage residents who are thinking of giving an animal a ‘forever home’ to consider visiting the shelter’, said Cr Balmes.
In conjunction with the Lost Dogs’ Home, Council has developed a lost animals’ database. This database can be accessed by pet owners searching for their lost pet in the hope of being reunited.
The lost animals’ database can be viewed on Council’s website at www.casey.vic.gov.au/lostpets.
